The TTL-232R-5V/TTL-232R-3V3 is a USB to Serial (TTL level) converter cable which allows for a simple way to connect TTL interface units to USB. This version of FTDI’s USB to TTL serial adapter cable has it’s I/O pins configured to operate at 5V levels.
The TTL-232R uses a FT232RQ IC which is housed inside the USB ‘A’ connector, and is terminated at the end of a 1.8 meter cable with a 0.1″” pitch header socket which provided access to transmit (Tx), receive (Rx), RTS#, CTS#, Vcc (5V), and GND.
The TTL-232R-5V/TTL-232R-3V3 is fully RoHS compliant and is supplied loose – packed in an anti-static bag. It is FCC, CE and UKCA approved.
The TTL-232R-5V/TTL-232R-3V3 is an USB to UART serial Converter Cable with +5V TTL level UART signal. The USB side of the cable is USB powered and USB 2.0 full speed compatible. The cable is both terminated by a 6-way, 0.1", single-in-line (SIL) connector. The cable contains a small internal electronic circuit board, utilizing the FT232R, which is encapsulated into the USB connector end of the cable.
