The USB connector contains a small circuit board featuring the FTDI FT232RQ serial UART interface IC to handle all the USB signalling and protocols.
These converters are supported with Microsoft WHQL certified VCP drivers for Windows, Apple Mac, and Linux: all of which are available,
6 feet (1.8 meter) industrial grade USB to RS232 adapter cable with wire ends. Connect legacy DB-9 serial communications devices to a modern computer with USB. Integrated TXD/RXD LEDs in the transparent USB connector to provide a visual indication of data traffic
RS-232 level UART data signals: RXD(Yellow), TXD(Orange), GND(Black), RTS(Green), CTS(Brown), +5V(Red). Standard Windows baud rates (300bps to 921.6Kbps). UART interface support for 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits and odd / even / mark / space /no parity
Industry standard FTDI chip set & device drivers to ensure maximum compatibility and superior reliability for industrial application. Works with all Windows and Mac OS versions.
Fully assisted hardware (RTS#/CTS#) or X-On/ X-Off software handshaking. USB 2.0 Full Speed compatible. Custom versions available on request
The USB-RS232-WE-1800-BT_5.0 is a 1.8m long USB to RS232 converter cable.
Using the FT232R chip combined with an RS232 level converter, the cable is CE, FCC and UKCA approved product which is one of the simplest USB – RS232 solutions around.
Powered from the USB port, the RS232 signals are exposed on unterminated wires allowing the user to fit an appropriate connector matching their system needs.
The cable can be used with FTDI’s drivers to provide a virtual COM port on a PC which is capable of communication rates with RS232 units from 300 baud up to 1 MBaud.
